My First and Last Car Accident

The car is totaled, but I am totally fine!

On July 2, 2003 I was coming home from work and was driving too fast for the wet conditions. As I came around a corner my rear end began to fishtail. Being somewhat familiar with snow and ice, I thought I could just pull out of it, but I oversteared and flung my rear around the other way causing me to turn 180 degrees until the front of the car was pointing the direction from where I had come from. I rolled down the cliff-like embankment backwards taking out two small trees and denting the car's roof. It felt like a roller coaster going through a corkscrew because it was so fast and so perfect. I praise God because He placed me to soft stop on all four wheels in a foot of mud. I just sat there stunned that I had just been in an accident. I took my seat belt and crawled out of the window behind a hissing engine. I scrambled up the bank and flagged somebody down to take to the nearest phone. I remember the first words that came to my mind as I sat in the bed of the truck on my way to the phone; "Thank you Lork!" I am confident and truly grateful that God had His angels around me because if just one of events of the accident had happened differently I could have been still trapped in the car obscured from sight in the mud unconscious if even alive. After the accident I looked at the curve where I had spun out and noticed I missed two patches of big trees and dove through the gap between them. If I had smashed into those trees...Thank you Jesus!! I firmly believe God wasn't ready to take me Home and gave me a second chance to improve my life and habits, to live for Him and serve His Kindom.
